The Content and Media Officer will be responsible for creating, managing, and distributing high-quality content across digital and traditional media platforms to enhance the visibility, engagement, and impact of the organization’s mission.
The ideal candidate is a skilled storyteller, content creator, and digital media enthusiast with a strong understanding of the non-profit landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Content Development: Create engaging written, visual, and multimedia content for use across the website, social media, newsletters, reports, press releases, blogs, and fundraising campaigns.
Brand Consistency: Ensure all content reflects the organization’s tone, voice, and branding guidelines consistently across all platforms.
Social Media Management: Manage and grow the organization’s social media presence (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter), including planning, scheduling, and posting content, as well as engaging with followers.
Website Updates: Regularly update website content and ensure accuracy and timeliness of information.
Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists; draft press releases and coordinate media coverage of organizational events and campaigns.
Photography and Videography: Capture and edit high-quality photos and videos from events, field visits, and interviews for use in marketing and donor reports.
Media Archive: Maintain a well-organized archive of photos, videos, and other media assets for internal and external use.
Campaign Support: Collaborate with program and fundraising teams to develop content that supports advocacy, donor engagement, and campaign goals.
Performance Monitoring: Track content and campaign performance using analytics tools; prepare monthly reports and suggest improvements based on data insights.
Trend Awareness: Stay updated with digital communication trends, tools, and best practices to improve content effectiveness and audience reach.
Key Requirements
Interested candidates should possess an HND / OND / Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 year work experience.
Passion for social change and alignment with the organization’s mission.
Creative thinker with attention to detail and a strong storytelling ability.
Experience working in multicultural environments or with grassroots communities.
Knowledge of local and international development issues is a plus.
