Key Responsibilities




  • Prepare and present high-quality meals according to restaurant or hotel standards.

  • Supervise and guide kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and proper food handling.

  • Design and update menus in collaboration with the executive chef or management, considering seasonal availability and customer preferences.

  • Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining quality, taste, and presentation.

  • Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and ensure optimal use of ingredients to reduce waste.

  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and sanitation regulations.

  • Train, mentor, and evaluate junior kitchen staff to maintain a skilled team.

  • Oversee cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment maintenance.

  • Stay updated with food trends and incorporate innovative techniques into the menu.

  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure customer satisfaction and address any kitchen-related issues.



Requirements




  • Proven experience as a chef, preferably in a high-volume or fine dining establishment.

  • Culinary school diploma or professional certification is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, international cuisines, and kitchen equipment.

  • Excellent leadership and time management skills.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of food quality and presentation.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good communication skills and a team-player attitude.

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
