Our client is a logistic company. Due to expansion, they are in need of an Accountant to join their team



Job Responsibilities:




  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

  • Process supplier invoices, payments, and staff reimbursements.

  • Monitor customer payments and ensure timely invoicing and collections.

  • Reconcile account discrepancies and ensure proper allocation of transactions.

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Monitor budget variances and report on financial performance against projections.

  • Provide support in analyzing cost structures and suggesting cost optimization strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, including VAT, withholding tax, and corporate tax.

  • Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors as required.

  • Prepare and file statutory tax returns and handle remittances.

  • Process payroll and ensure timely salary disbursement.

  • Compute statutory deductions and prepare related remittances (e.g., PAYE, pension).

  • Track and reconcile inventory and fixed assets.

  • Monitor logistics fleet expenses and depreciation schedules.

  • Maintain and enforce proper accounting controls and procedures.

  • Review and update accounting policies in line with industry best practices.



Job Requirements:




  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounting.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or Tally).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.

  • Good understanding of tax laws and compliance in Nigeria.

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
