We are seeking a versatile and experienced Product & Technology Operations Manager to lead the development and management of digital platforms, while ensuring smooth and secure IT operations across the organization. This is a hands-on, mid-level role that blends product ownership with IT infrastructure coordination, ideal for a self-driven professional with a strong track record in managing digital tools and internal systems.

The successful candidate will lead innovation across our digital products, such as an election-technology platform and the Africa Female Founder Monitor, while overseeing core IT functions, supporting cross-functional teams, and ensuring the organization's digital infrastructure effectively supports its growing programmatic and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Product Management & Innovation

• Lead end-to-end product development for the organization’s digital platforms, from concept through launch and iteration.


• Define and manage product roadmaps in alignment with organizational objectives and user feedback.


• Collaborate with developers, designers, program teams, and external vendors to deliver impactful, user-friendly products.


• Manage product testing, analytics, user support, and continuous improvements.


• Ensure platforms are accessible, secure, and scalable.

IT Operations & Digital Infrastructure

• Oversee core IT functions, including system access, hardware/software setup, and network stability.


• Coordinate with IT vendors and service providers to ensure effective support and problem resolution.


• Implement and enforce data security, access controls, and backup protocols.


• Maintain up-to-date records of digital assets, user licenses, and hardware inventory.

Systems & Tool Integration

• Support the integration and optimisation of platforms and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Notion, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365).


• Provide onboarding and basic training for staff on key platforms and tech protocols.


• Work cross-functionally to streamline workflows and improve organisational efficiency through technology.

Reporting, Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain technical documentation for digital platforms and IT systems.


• Monitor usage data and generate product/tech-related reports to inform decision-making.


• Ensure compliance with internal IT policies, data protection regulations, and donor requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in product management, IT operations, or digital project delivery.


• Proven experience leading digital product development or platform management.


• Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, cloud-based tools, and digital security best practices.


• Experience with digital collaboration tools, CMS platforms, and user experience design is a plus.


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills.


• Ability to work independently and deliver results in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.


• Experience in civic-tech, social impact organisations.


• Familiarity with the digital governance and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Africa.
