Job Description
The Position
- The Director of Physical Planning shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration and coordination of all physical facilities in the University.
- He/She shall be required to provide both professional and administrative leadership to members of staff in the Directorate.
Requirements for the Candidate
- The Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Architecture, Building, Quantity Surveying, Town/Urban and Regional Planning or Estate Management with at least fifteen (15) years relevant post-qualification experience in an institution of higher learning.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies such as ARCON, CORBON etc is mandatory.
- The candidate should not be below the rank of Deputy Director or its equivalent in a reputable University or comparable Institution.
The Candidate applying for the above position should:
- Have and show a demonstrable evidence of management and leadership;
- Should not be more than sixty (60) years upon appointment;
- Be computer savvy with understanding of digital communication; and
- Be in excellent physical and mental health.
Terms and Conditions of Service Applicable to the Position
- The successful applicant shall hold the position for a single term of five (5) years on such conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment.
- The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the position of the Director of Physical Planning in all Federal Universities in Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the Federal Government of Nigeria/Governing Council of the University.
