Job Description
Responsibilities
- Administering the College Library and providing Library services to the entire College community, reporting to the Provost on the day-to-day administration of the library department.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must possess a good Bachelor's Degree with a Master in Library Science (MLS) from a recognised Institution of Higher Learning with at least 15 years of Cognate experience and registration with a Professional Library body. OR
- A Ph.D in Library and Information Science with at least 12 years cognate (work) experience and evidence of registration with a professional library body.
- Must possess proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
- Must present evidence of sound human relations, professional competence, industrial integrity, and efficient material resources management.
- Must have been a Chief Librarian or Deputy College Librarian for a period of not less than five (5) years in a College of Education system.
- Must show evidence of substantial contribution to knowledge through research and scholarly publications in reputable journals equivalent to that of a Chief Lecturer
Other Requirements:
- Candidates must not be more than 59 years old at the time of taking up the appointment.
