Job Description
The Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machines, vehicles, and mechanical systems used in the manufacturing process. The role requires technical knowledge of mechanical systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to ensure minimal downtime and optimum equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and perform corrective repairs or part replacements.
- Conduct preventive maintenance according to scheduled service plans.
- Ensure all mechanical systems operate efficiently and safely.
- Record maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts usage.
- Work with the production team to minimize machine downtime.
- Operate tools and machinery safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Recommend improvements to equipment performance or maintenance practices.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Job Requirements:
Education & Qualifications:
- SSCE / OND / Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related fields.
- Technical training or certification in mechanical maintenance is an added advantage.
Experience:
- 2 – 5 years of experience as a Mechanic in a manufacturing, industrial, or automotive environment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, engines, and industrial machines.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, mechanical equipment, and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a proactive maintenance mindset.
- Good physical condition and manual dexterity.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
