  • This role demands a balance of analytical rigour, relationship management, and industry foresight, especially within the creative, experiential marketing, and events landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Growth Planning:

  • Design and execute short-, medium-, and long-term strategic plans aligned with the company's vision and market opportunities.

  • Analyse market trends, competitive positioning, and customer data to identify growth levers and business risks.

  • Lead internal strategic reviews and recommend actions that improve performance and operational efficiency.

  • Develop and monitor KPIs for strategic initiatives, ensuring timely execution and measurable outcomes.

New Business Development:

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business leads including corporate clients, government contracts, brand activations, and experiential marketing opportunities.

  • Design and pitch compelling proposals tailored to client needs, collaborating with creative and production teams to articulate clear value propositions.

  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of revenue-generating partnerships and event contracts.

Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with brands, agencies, sponsors, vendors, and ecosystem players across media, lifestyle, and events industries.

  • Represent the company in external meetings, industry conferences, and stakeholder forums to expand visibility and partnership potential.

  • Negotiate partnership terms, commercial agreements, and performance milestones.

Revenue & Commercial Strategy:

  • Contribute to pricing strategy, contract structuring, and margin optimization across services and product offerings.

  • Explore and help operationalize new revenue streams including digital event extensions, merchandise, IP creation, and cross-industry collaborations.

  • Drive strategies to improve client retention, upselling, and brand loyalty.

Team Collaboration & Internal Leadership:

  • Work closely with the Events, Creative, Finance, and Operations teams to align execution with commercial priorities.

  • Serve as a thought partner to the CEO or senior leadership, offering insights and recommendations based on internal and external business intelligence.

  • Support the professionalization of internal processes, reporting standards, and documentation that support growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or related discipline (MBA or relevant postgrad qualification is an advantage).

  • 5–7 years of experience in business strategy, development, or client-facing commercial roles, preferably within the creative, events, marketing, or media industries.

  • Strong commercial acumen and proven ability to drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships and business development.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including proposal and pitch development.

  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to inform strategy.

  • Familiarity with Lagos’ creative, corporate, and cultural landscape is highly advantageous.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and leading in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with on-ground execution.

  • Confident, persuasive, and well-networked within relevant industries.

  • Deep appreciation for branding, audience experience, and event production value chains.
