Job Summary




  • The Dangote Cement Plc is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer specializing in Bank Reconciliation.

  • In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate reconciliation of the company’s bank accounts by reviewing financial transactions and resolving discrepancies.

  • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial principles, and the ability to communicate effectively with different departments.



Key Duties and Responsibilities




  • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of bank statements.

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and the company’s accounting records.

  • Maintain meticulous records of all reconciliation activities to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

  • Prepare monthly reconciliation reports for management review.

  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to resolve any outstanding transactions.

  • Ensure that all reconciling items are cleared in a timely manner.

  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports and documentation required for audits.

  • Provide support in evaluating financial activities and advising on necessary actions.



Requirements

Educational and Work Experience:




  • B.Sc. or HND in Finance/Accounting or related field.

  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA) is a plus.

  • 3 - 6 years of relevant experience in bank reconciliation or accounting roles.



Skills and Competencies:




  • Strong understanding of finance best practices and accounting principles.

  • Proficient in accounting software (experience with SAP is an advantage).

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

  • High ethical standards and integrity.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
