Job Description







  • The MERL Data Analyst will be responsible for all MERL activities, collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to track program performance, measure impact, and inform strategic decision-making on the YAPPI project. This role is integral to ensuring the success of YAPPI's goals and maintaining transparency and accountability in program delivery.



Responsibilities




  • Develop and enhance monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks and procedures for effective project tracking.

  • Monitor all project activities, expenditures, and outputs to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.

  • Recommend improvements to the project’s logical framework and implementation approach.

  • Design and implement data collection tools to capture quantitative and qualitative program data.

  • Track and analyze project performance using key indicators and impact tracking tools.

  • Provide regular feedback to the Project Manager on implementation strategies and effectiveness.

  • Identify implementation bottlenecks and propose strategies to improve efficiency and project outcomes.

  • Compile and submit detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual M&E reports to stakeholders and management.

  • Conduct capacity assessments and support the development of M&E tools and methodologies.

  • Maintain a secure and up-to-date database of student performance, engagement, and attendance.

  • Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improving program delivery and impact.

  • Develop dashboards, infographics, and visual reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Present evaluation findings and recommendations to program teams, senior leadership, and partners.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent data collection and sharing across the project.

  • Contribute to strategic planning by providing data-driven insights and evidence-based recommendations.



Key Qualifications and Skills



Education & Experience




  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 2–3 years of proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within the education, nonprofit, or creative industries.



Technical Skills




  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, R, or SQL.

  • Hands-on experience with data visualization platforms like Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) data handling and management.

  • Experience in Knowledge Management is a significant advantage.
