Job Summary
- The Turbine Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of turbines and associated equipment in the power generation facility.
- The role involves monitoring, controlling, and troubleshooting turbine systems to ensure optimal performance while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and control steam, gas, or hydro turbines and related auxiliary systems.
- Record and analyze operational data such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates.
- Start up and shut down turbines in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of turbines, pumps, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and report abnormal operating conditions or malfunctions.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams during repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and shift reports.
- Respond to emergency situations and take corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Plant Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in turbine operations (power plant, refinery, or related industry).
- Strong knowledge of turbine systems, power generation processes, and auxiliary equipment.
- Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or SCADA systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, P&IDs, and schematic diagrams.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
