Job Description
The Store Keeper will be responsible for the efficient management of the company’s inventory, spare parts, tools, raw materials, and finished goods within the automobile manufacturing plant. The role involves receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking materials while maintaining proper documentation and ensuring that stock levels are adequate to support uninterrupted production operations. The Store Keeper will also collaborate with the procurement and production departments to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials, spare parts, and supplies.
- Properly store and organize items in the store/warehouse according to company standards.
- Issue materials and tools to production and maintenance teams upon request.
- Maintain accurate stock records and prepare regular inventory reports.
- Monitor stock levels and inform procurement of shortages or replenishment needs.
- Implement and maintain stock control systems to avoid losses, damages, or stock-outs.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and safe storage of materials.
- Carry out regular stock-taking and reconciliation with accounting records.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the store/warehouse area.
- Ensure compliance with safety and company policies in store management.
Education & Qualifications
- OND/HND/B.Sc. in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- Professional certification in storekeeping, inventory, or warehouse management is an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–4 years of experience as a Store Keeper or Inventory Officer, preferably in a manufacturing or automobile industry.
- Hands-on experience in storekeeping and inventory control.
- Familiarity with ERP/Inventory management software is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and storekeeping practices.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Good problem-solving and analytical ability.
