Job Description






The Hydraulic Mechanic will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of hydraulic systems used in automobiles and production machinery. The role requires technical expertise in hydraulic components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and motors to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. The mechanic will also collaborate with engineers and production teams to implement preventive maintenance programs and support continuous improvement in hydraulic system performance.



Key Responsibilities




  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems on vehicles and manufacturing equipment.

  • Inspect hydraulic components (pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, hoses) for wear and damage.

  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.

  • Diagnose hydraulic failures and recommend corrective actions.

  • Assemble and disassemble hydraulic systems and components as required.

  • Interpret and follow hydraulic schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.

  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during repair and maintenance work.

  • Support production teams by ensuring hydraulic systems are operational and efficient.

  • Recommend improvements to hydraulic systems for better reliability and performance.



Education & Qualifications




  • Technical diploma, vocational training, or OND/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.

  • Certification in hydraulics or fluid power systems is an added advantage.



Experience




  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Hydraulic Mechanic, preferably in automobile or heavy equipment manufacturing.

  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems.



Skills & Competencies




  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, principles, and components.

  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical manuals.

  • Skilled in using diagnostic and repair tools for hydraulics.

  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Attention to detail and strong safety awareness.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
