The R&D Manager will lead the planning, development, and execution of innovative projects to improve vehicle design, performance, safety, and efficiency. This role requires overseeing research initiatives, managing development teams, and ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards while driving innovation to maintain a competitive edge.



Key Responsibilities




  • Lead and coordinate R&D projects from concept to final product implementation.

  • Supervise the design, testing, and validation of automotive systems and components.

  • Identify and integrate new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes.

  • Collaborate with production, quality control, and technical teams to align R&D output with business objectives.

  • Oversee prototype development and ensure proper performance evaluation.

  • Monitor industry trends and competitor innovations to guide R&D strategies.

  • Prepare and present progress reports and technical documentation to senior management.

  • Manage R&D budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, IATF 16949).

  • Mentor and develop R&D team members to enhance technical expertise.



Education & Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Professional certifications in R&D, Automotive Technology, or Project Management are an advantage.



Experience




  • Minimum of 5–8 years of automotive R&D experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.



Skills & Competencies




  • Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and manufacturing processes.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.

  • Excellent leadership, project management, and organizational skills.

  • Innovative mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of testing and validation procedures for automotive components.
