Role Overview



The Copywriter will craft persuasive, engaging, and brand-aligned content across different digital and offline channels. This role requires creativity, adaptability, and a strong sense of brand voice. The Copywriter will collaborate with marketing and design teams to produce copy that drives results, from ad campaigns to long-form content.



Key Responsibilities




  • Craft clear, persuasive, and engaging copy for a variety of channels including ads, social media, landing pages, websites, press releases, blogs, and email campaigns, ensuring each piece drives measurable results.

  • Adapt messaging to suit different platforms, audiences, and campaign goals while maintaining a unified and authentic brand voice across all touchpoints.

  • Collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and strategists to develop creative concepts that resonate with target audiences and align with campaign objectives.

  • Conduct thorough market, competitor, and audience research to understand cultural nuances, consumer behavior, and tone preferences that improve engagement and conversions.

  • Optimize copy for SEO, readability, and clarity to increase visibility and search engine rankings, particularly within African and global markets.

  • Edit, proofread, and refine content to ensure accuracy, grammatical excellence, and consistency with brand guidelines.

  • Brainstorm creative campaign ideas that support brand storytelling and strengthen emotional connection with customers.

  • Stay updated on copywriting trends, digital marketing shifts, and language techniques that improve ad performance, CTR, and ROI.



Qualifications and Requirements




  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field (preferred but not strictly required if experience is strong).

  • Proficiency with collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Trello, Slack, Asana) and content management systems (WordPress or similar).

  • A portfolio showcasing strong copy across various mediums (ads, websites, social media, blogs, email campaigns).

  • Proven experience as a copywriter in digital marketing or media.

  • Solid command of storytelling and brand positioning.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with quick turnarounds.

  • Familiarity with SEO writing best practices is a plus.
