Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Supermarket Manager to oversee all aspects of our retail grocery operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, managing daily operations, leading a diverse team, and driving profitability while maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and product quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Management
- Oversee daily store operations including opening and closing procedures
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Manage inventory levels, stock rotation, and product placement
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for timely deliveries
- Implement and maintain store policies and procedures
- Monitor and optimize store layout for maximum efficiency and sales
Team Leadership
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise department managers and staff
- Create and manage work schedules to ensure adequate coverage
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth
- Handle employee relations issues and disciplinary actions when necessary
- Lead by example in customer service and professional conduct
Financial Management
- Develop and manage store budgets and financial targets
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue
- Control operational costs while maintaining quality standards
- Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators
- Ensure accurate cash handling and loss prevention procedures
- Coordinate with corporate finance on budget planning and reporting
Customer Service
- Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly
- Ensure store appearance meets company standards
- Implement promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements
- Ensure competitive pricing and product availability
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably in grocery or supermarket environment
- Proven track record of managing large teams (50+ employees)
- Experience with profit and loss management
