Job Summary
- We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Production Manager to lead our Assembly Plant operations, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality output of finished goods.
- The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in assembly line setup, lean manufacturing, team leadership, and cross-functional coordination across a dynamic shop floor.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle assembly, battery integration, modular systems, or semi/fully automated lines will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage day-to-day operations of the assembly lines to meet production targets in terms of volume, quality, cost, and timelines.
- Monitor and control production schedules, resource allocation, takt time, and workflow balancing.
- Lead, train, and supervise assembly supervisors, line leaders, and technicians, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams for smooth execution of assembly operations.
- Analyze and optimize productivity metrics – OEE, downtime, cycle time, rejection %, and rework levels.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / ISO 14001 / EHS protocols).
- Drive implementation of Lean tools (Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, TPM, SMED) and problem-solving frameworks (PDCA, RCA, FMEA).
- Manage material flow on the shop floor using Just-In-Time (JIT), pull systems, or digital assembly control systems.
- Support NPI (New Product Introduction) ramp-up, changeovers, and process validation at the assembly line.
- Report production performance to senior management and recommend improvements in plant operations and efficiency.
- Play a key role in integrating new technologies such as robotic or semi-automated systems, especially in vehicle or battery assembly lines, to enhance throughput and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Automobile Engineering.
- 8–15 years of experience in assembly shop or manufacturing plant, preferably in automotive, EVs, or heavy equipment industries.
- Proven track record in managing production teams in high-speed, multi-model or variant assembly operations.
- Proficiency in using ERP/MES systems and MS Office tools for production monitoring and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of quality tools, lean manufacturing, and people management.
Preferred Skills & Experience (Strongly Considered):
- Experience with vehicle assembly, battery pack integration, or modular/semi-automated assembly systems.
- Familiarity with robotic automation and smart manufacturing technologies.
- Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), or Industrial Safety.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performance teams in a technology-driven production environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.
