Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Superintendent to oversee daily operations within our plastic manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensuring efficient, high-quality, and safe production processes, particularly focused on injection molding and blow molding technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in plastics manufacturing, proven leadership skills, and the ability to optimize production output while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities across multiple shifts to meet production goals and delivery schedules.
- Oversee operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of injection molding and blow molding machines.
- Ensure all production operations comply with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor production output and quality metrics, making adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality control, maintenance, and logistics teams to streamline production processes.
- Lead and mentor a team of machine operators, technicians, and shift supervisors.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Manage raw material usage, inventory, and minimize downtime due to material shortages or equipment failure.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for molding operations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience (3 – 5 years) in a supervisory or superintendent role within the plastic manufacturing industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of injection molding and blow molding machinery, materials, and processes.
- Familiarity with plastic resins, mold setup, and troubleshooting molding defects.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Plastics Technology, or related field preferred.
- Technical certifications in plastic processing or molding operations are an advantage.
