Job Overview




  • We are looking for a Technical Operations Manager who can Oversee daily IT operations and lead technical teams to ensure systems are running efficiently, securely, and with minimal downtime.

  • Drive process improvements and manage technical projects that support business goals and improve overall system performance.



Key Responsibilities




  • Oversee daily technical operations of vessels, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.

  • Develop and manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all marine assets.

  • Coordinate dry-docking, repairs, surveys, and certifications of vessels.

  • Liaise with classification societies, regulatory bodies (e.g., NIMASA), and vendors to ensure compliance and smooth operations.

  • Manage technical budgets, spare parts inventory, and procurement processes.

  • Supervise and train technical crew and shore-based support staff.

  • Monitor and report on vessel performance, fuel efficiency, and equipment status.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to reduce downtime.

  • Collaborate closely with the operations and logistics teams to align technical capacity with operational needs.

  • Ensure proper documentation and timely reporting of technical operations,incidents and audits



Requirements & Qualifications




  • B.Sc./HND in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in marine technical operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Experience in offshore support vessels (OSVs), tugboats, or similar marine logistics environments.

  • Strong knowledge of vessel maintenance, classification rules, and marine safety regulations.

  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

  • Proficiency in budgeting and technical cost control.

  • Strong understanding of maritime regulatory compliance (NIMASA, ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL).

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.  Strong problem-solving, decision making, and analytical abilities.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
