Job Summary

• The Legal Officer will serve as the company’s representative in handling all legal matters, particularly issues arising along the company’s operational routes and driver assignments.


• The successful candidate will ensure compliance with statutory regulations, provide legal advisory support, and represent the company in disputes, negotiations, and court proceedings when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the company in all legal matters that may arise during driver operations across assigned routes.


• Liaise with law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to resolve disputes and ensure smooth operations.


• Provide legal advice to management on contracts, agreements, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.


• Draft, review, and vet legal documents, contracts, and company policies.


• Maintain proper documentation of legal cases, correspondences, and settlements.


• Conduct risk assessments and recommend preventive legal measures to protect company assets and interests.


• Support in handling employee-related legal issues and disputes.


• Keep management updated on changes in relevant transport, logistics, labor, and corporate laws.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); BL qualification is mandatory.


• Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience as a Legal Officer, preferably within the logistics, transport, or corporate sector.


• Strong knowledge of Nigerian legal and regulatory frameworks, particularly in logistics and transportation.


• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple cases, and travel to operational routes when required.


• High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
