The Legal Officer will serve as the company’s representative in handling all legal matters, particularly issues arising along the company’s operational routes and driver assignments.
The successful candidate will ensure compliance with statutory regulations, provide legal advisory support, and represent the company in disputes, negotiations, and court proceedings when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Represent the company in all legal matters that may arise during driver operations across assigned routes.
Liaise with law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to resolve disputes and ensure smooth operations.
Provide legal advice to management on contracts, agreements, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Draft, review, and vet legal documents, contracts, and company policies.
Maintain proper documentation of legal cases, correspondences, and settlements.
Conduct risk assessments and recommend preventive legal measures to protect company assets and interests.
Support in handling employee-related legal issues and disputes.
Keep management updated on changes in relevant transport, logistics, labor, and corporate laws.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); BL qualification is mandatory.
Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience as a Legal Officer, preferably within the logistics, transport, or corporate sector.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian legal and regulatory frameworks, particularly in logistics and transportation.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple cases, and travel to operational routes when required.
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
