Job Overview




  • The Cashier will be responsible for handling all customer transactions at the restaurant/lounge, ensuring accurate billing, proper cash management, and excellent customer service.

  • The role requires honesty, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.



Key Responsibilities

Cash & Payment Handling:




  • Receive payments from customers (cash, POS, transfers, mobile payments, etc.).

  • Issue receipts and maintain accurate records of transactions.

  • Balance the cash drawer and prepare daily cash reports at the end of each shift.

  • Reconcile sales with cash/receipts and report discrepancies immediately.



Customer Service:




  • Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with billing inquiries.

  • Resolve basic payment-related complaints politely and escalate complex issues to the manager.

  • Maintain a professional, friendly, and helpful attitude at all times.



Record Keeping & Reporting:




  • Maintain accurate records of daily sales transactions.

  • Work closely with the accountant/manager to ensure all sales are properly documented.

  • Provide daily sales reports and submit reconciled cash and receipts at closing.



Compliance & Efficiency:




  • Ensure all transactions comply with restaurant policies and financial regulations.

  • Safeguard cash and other payment instruments to prevent theft or loss.

  • Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and presentable.



Qualifications




  • OND in Accounting, Business Admin, or related field (preferred but not compulsory).

  • 1 – 2 years experience

  • Prior experience as a cashier, teller, or sales attendant in hospitality or retail is an advantage.

  • Good numerical and basic accounting skills.

  • Proficiency in using POS systems, Excel, and basic accounting software.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and honesty.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy restaurant/lounge environment.
