The Role



We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and highly skilled Creative and Cultural Arts (CCA) Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching CCA to students in a secondary school setting, fostering their appreciation for and skills in various art forms, including visual arts, music, drama, and local crafts. This role requires a teacher who is not only an expert in their field but also an effective mentor and motivator.



Key Responsibilities




  • Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive lesson plans that align with the national curriculum for Creative and Cultural Arts.

  • Teach a range of art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, traditional Nigerian crafts, music appreciation, and drama.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them improve their artistic abilities.

  • Organize and manage classroom activities, ensuring a safe, creative, and stimulating learning environment.

  • Plan and prepare students for exhibitions, school performances, and inter-school competitions.

  • Integrate Maiduguri's rich cultural heritage into the curriculum to make learning relevant and engaging.

  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to contribute to the school's overall artistic and cultural life.

  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and grades.



Qualifications and Experience




  • A Bachelor's degree in Creative Arts, Fine Arts, Education, or a related field.

  • Completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

  • A minimum of two (2) years of post-NYSC teaching experience in a reputable secondary school.

  • Demonstrable expertise in a range of art forms.

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

  • A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.

  • Knowledge of the local culture and artistic traditions of Borno State will be an added advantage.
