Job Summary



Our is seeking a passionate and dedicated Chemistry Teacher to join our academic team in Maiduguri. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Chemistry lessons to secondary school students, fostering an engaging and effective learning environment, and preparing students for local and national examinations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Nigerian educational curriculum and a proven track record of helping students achieve academic excellence.



Key Responsibilities




  • Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans in accordance with the national curriculum.

  • Teach Chemistry to students at various secondary school levels (JSS and SSS).

  • Assess and monitor students’ progress through a variety of methods, including classwork, homework, and examinations.

  • Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic development.

  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, adhering to all school policies and procedures.

  • Participate in departmental meetings, school-wide events, and professional development training.

  • Prepare students for WAEC, NECO, and other relevant examinations.

  • Manage and maintain the chemistry laboratory, ensuring all equipment and chemicals are handled safely.

  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive and supportive learning atmosphere.



Qualifications and Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemistry Education, or a related field.

  • A valid teaching qualification (e.g., Post Graduate Diploma in Education - PGDE) is an added advantage.

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-NYSC experience as a Chemistry Teacher in a reputable secondary school.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Nigerian secondary school curriculum.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.

  • Proficiency in using modern teaching aids and technology.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.

  • A resident of or willingness to relocate to Maiduguri, Borno State.
