Job Summary:



We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our team at a leading secondary school in Maiduguri. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics instruction to students, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, and preparing students for both internal and external examinations. This role requires a passionate educator with a strong understanding of the Nigerian secondary school curriculum and a commitment to student success.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective mathematics lessons for students in various secondary school grades.

  • Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the national educational standards and school requirements.

  • Assess and evaluate student progress through tests, assignments, and continuous assessments, providing constructive feedback.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and a love for learning mathematics.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

  • Prepare students for key examinations, including but not limited to BECE, NECO, and WAEC.

  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development workshops, and school-wide events.

  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and grades.

  • Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and parents to support student development.

  • Serve as a mentor to students and contribute to the overall pastoral care of the school community.



Qualifications and Experience:




  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) teaching experience in a reputable secondary school.

  • Proven track record of preparing students for public examinations (e.g., WAEC, NECO).

  • Strong knowledge of the Nigerian secondary school mathematics curriculum.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.

  • Passion for teaching and a genuine interest in the academic and personal growth of students.

  • Ability to use modern teaching aids and technology to enhance learning.

  • Residency or willingness to relocate to Maiduguri, Borno State.
