Why This Role Matters

  • This is not just a fundraising role — it’s a mission-critical leadership position for someone ready to build, execute, and scale a world-class fundraising strategy. From six-figure grants to high-value corporate partnerships and major donor programs, you’ll be at the forefront of driving CAIN’s growth and sustainability.

  • If you have a track record of raising hundreds of thousands (or millions) for social impact and love building from the ground up, we’d be excited to connect with you!

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising roadmap to raise $500K+ annually within 2–3 years

  • Set and track quarterly/annual fundraising goals, monitor KPIs, and prepare regular progress reports

  • Design diversified income streams: grants, major gifts, CSR partnerships, events, and individual giving campaigns

  • Collaborate with program and comms teams to align messaging and impact stories

  • Identify new funding opportunities across local and global markets

Grant Acquisition & Management

  • Research and pursue high-value local and international grants

  • Write compelling, data-driven proposals for six-figure funding opportunities

  • Build and manage a grant pipeline and reporting calendar

  • Maintain strong relationships with institutional funders

Major Donor & Corporate Partnerships

  • Identify and cultivate high-net-worth individuals and corporate sponsors

  • Build long-term donor relationships leading to large, multi-year gifts

  • Develop donor engagement strategies to improve retention and grow giving levels

  • Ensure timely, personalized donor communications and reporting

Systems & Team Building

  • Lay the foundation for a scalable fundraising department

  • Build and manage donor databases, CRM systems, and funding pipelines

  • Recruit or oversee part-time staff, consultants, or interns as needed

Campaigns & Visibility

  • Design and execute creative donor campaigns and fundraising events

  • Collaborate with the communications team on fundraising content and decks

  • Represent CAIN at donor meetings, conferences, and sector events

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or donor relations

  • Proven ability to personally raise $200,000+ annually across diverse funding sources

  • Excellent grant writing and proposal development skills with measurable success

  • Strong grasp of donor strategy, nonprofit budgeting, and financials

  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

  • Comfortable working in lean, fast-paced, mission-driven teams

  • Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce or Bloomerang (a plus)

  • Bonus: Experience working with global funders, education-focused nonprofits, or tech-driven NGOs
