Job Summary:
The R&D Manager is responsible for leading the research and development team to drive innovation, product development, and process improvements. The role involves overseeing the creation of new products, enhancing existing ones, and ensuring alignment with market trends, customer needs, and company strategy. The manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, manages R&D projects, and ensures compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the R&D team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Plan, direct, and oversee research and development projects from concept to commercialization.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies to guide innovation.
- Develop prototypes, test new products, and validate performance against standards.
- Collaborate with production, marketing, and design teams to ensure seamless product development.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in all R&D activities.
- Manage R&D budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Maintain documentation of research findings, technical reports, and project progress.
- Drive continuous improvement in R&D processes, methodologies, and technologies.
- Represent the R&D function in meetings with stakeholders, clients, and external partners.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- Proven experience in R&D with at least 5–7 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong technical background with knowledge of product development and testing.
- Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in research methodologies, product testing, and data analysis.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
