Job Description

• We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management, contract administration, and commercial strategy on high-value projects.


• You will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties on assigned projects


• Prepare accurate cost plans, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation


• Manage procurement processes, including supplier/subcontractor selection and contract negotiation


• Conduct detailed cost reporting, forecasting, and commercial risk assessments


• Monitor project variations, claims, and final accounts


• Oversee valuations, progress payments, and cost control strategies


• Advise on contract law, particularly across JCT, NEC, FIDIC, or bespoke contracts


• Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure commercial alignment


• Support or lead dispute resolution processes where required


• Mentor and guide junior QS team members, contributing to talent development and best practices


• Provide strategic commercial input to support project decisions and profitability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline


• Minimum 5 – 8 years of relevant experience, with significant experience in a senior or lead QS role


• Demonstrable experience managing large-scale construction or infrastructure projects


• In-depth understanding of contract forms such as JCT, NEC, FIDIC, or similar


• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills


• Chartered status (MRICS or equivalent) is highly desirable


• Proficient in cost management software (e.g., CostX, Candy, CATO, or similar)


• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
