Job Summary




  • We are looking for a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to support our kitchen operations and uphold the highest standards of food preparation and hygiene.

  • The ideal candidate should have strong experience in both Nigerian and continental cuisine, and be able to lead and inspire the kitchen team.

  • You will work closely with the Head Chef to manage daily kitchen activities, including supervising staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining health and safety standards.



Key Responsibilities




  • Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and food production.

  • Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality meals, including local and continental dishes.

  • Supervise kitchen staff, assign tasks, and ensure smooth workflow during service.

  • Maintain excellent hygiene, safety, and cleanliness across all kitchen areas

  • Monitor food stock and supplies; assist in ordering and inventory control.

  • Train junior kitchen staff and assist with performance management.

  • Step into the Head Chef’s role in their absence.

  • Minimize food waste and manage kitchen costs effectively.



Requirements




  • Candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years experience.

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a busy restaurant or hospitality setting

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of various cuisines, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

  • Culinary certification or diploma from a recognized institution preferred

  • Strong understanding of kitchen financials, including food cost and waste control.
