We are looking for a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to support our kitchen operations and uphold the highest standards of food preparation and hygiene.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in both Nigerian and continental cuisine, and be able to lead and inspire the kitchen team.
You will work closely with the Head Chef to manage daily kitchen activities, including supervising staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and food production.
Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality meals, including local and continental dishes.
Supervise kitchen staff, assign tasks, and ensure smooth workflow during service.
Maintain excellent hygiene, safety, and cleanliness across all kitchen areas
Monitor food stock and supplies; assist in ordering and inventory control.
Train junior kitchen staff and assist with performance management.
Step into the Head Chef’s role in their absence.
Minimize food waste and manage kitchen costs effectively.
Requirements
Candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years experience.
Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a busy restaurant or hospitality setting
Strong leadership and team management abilities
In-depth knowledge of various cuisines, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Culinary certification or diploma from a recognized institution preferred
Strong understanding of kitchen financials, including food cost and waste control.
