Job Purpose




  • To provide strategic leadership and oversight of all engineering construction activities, with responsibility for planning, execution, supervision, and quality assurance of road and building projects.

  • The role ensures projects are delivered within scope, cost, time, and quality requirements, while driving innovation, safety, and compliance with engineering and regulatory standards.



Key Responsibilities




  • Provide overall leadership and direction for engineering and construction projects from initiation to completion.

  • Develop and implement project strategies, execution frameworks, and technical standards.

  • Oversee site supervision and project execution, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, and industry standards.

  • Review and approve designs, technical/ construction documentation, method statements, and inspection/test plans (ITPs).

  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and technical support to engineers, project managers, and site staff.

  • Lead quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes across all construction activities.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery within budget, time, and quality expectations.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to project managers, engineers, and site staff.

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, regulators, and other stakeholders to resolve technical, contractual, and operational matters.

  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.

  • Monitor project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and adoption of modern engineering practices.

  • Prepare weekly executive-level reports and provide strategic recommendations to management.



Qualifications and Experience




  • Education: B.Sc./B.Eng. in Civil Engineering or related field (M.Sc./MBA is an added advantage).

  • Professional Certification: COREN, NSE, or equivalent recognized professional registration.

  • Minimum of 15 years’ progressive experience in road and building construction management, with hands-on site engineering background.

  • Proven track record in site supervision, project execution, and compliance with engineering standards.

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Advanced knowledge of construction methodologies, project management frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency in engineering/project management software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project, Primavera, etc.).

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.
