Job Purpose




  • The Child Protection Case Worker is responsible for providing direct support and case management services to vulnerable children and their families.

  • This role involves assessing child protection needs, developing and implementing case plans, offering psychosocial support, advocating for children's rights, and coordinating with relevant agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of children.



Responsibilities




  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify protection needs and risks.

  • Develop individualized case plans aimed at safeguarding children and supporting family reunification or alternative care arrangements.

  • Provide psychosocial support, counselling, and guidance to children and caregivers.

  • Conduct community outreach and awareness campaigns on child protection key issues.

  • Monitor and review case progress regularly, adjusting interventions as needed.

  • Advocate for children's rights and ensure compliance with child protection policies and standards.

  • Facilitate referrals to appropriate services such as health, education, legal aid, and psychosocial support.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records in accordance with organizational policies.

  • Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, community leaders, and other stakeholders.

  • Participate in training and capacity-building activities related to child protection.

  • Support capacity-building activities for community members including community volunteers

  • Assist in preparing reports, documentation, and case studies as required.

  • Ensure adherence to child safeguarding policies and ethical standards.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.



Requirements




  • Minimum of Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, and other social science related field.

  • Proven 2 years’ experience working with vulnerable children and families, preferably in a humanitarian or northwest community setting.

  • Strong understanding of child protection principles, child rights, and safeguarding policies.

  • Strong experience in Child protection case management services

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Fluency in English and local language (Hausa) will be an advantage.

  • Proficiency in documentation and case management software.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, CPIMS and data management.

  • Qualified and experience female candidate are encouraged to apply.
