Job Summary
- We are currently seeking a Melting Operations Supervisor with previous experience in melting of metals, preferably aluminium.
- The Melting Operations Supervisor is to oversee the critical processes of melting aluminum, ensuring quality output, efficient operations, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all melting operations to ensure efficiency, safety and quality.
- Ensure the correct quantity of melting materials is used to produce high-quality billets.
- Monitor the usage rate of melting materials and alloys, maintaining accurate records.
- Supervise the melting of scrap materials to meet production requirements.
- Ensure melting ovens and equipment are well-maintained.
- Implement safety protocols during all melting processes to minimize risks.
- Train the melting team on best practices for aluminum melting operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the melting process to prevent delays.
- Analyze production data to identify ways to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Work closely with the planning and inventory teams to ensure adequate billet supply.
- Prepare and present reports on melting activities, material usage, and equipment performance to management.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards related to the melting process.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in melting of aluminum or other metals is a must.
- At least 2 years experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Understanding of melting processes, rate usage, and equipment maintenance.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze data using Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in production and inventory management software is an advantage.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
