Job Description
We are looking for dynamic, street-smart Business Unit Leads to drive adoption of our Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGO) refrigeration and solar solutions across key regions. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with experience in below-the-line (BTL) activation, agent network growth, and collections — ideally from fintech platforms like OPay, Moniepoint, PalmPay, or FairMoney.
This is a boots-on-the-ground role: you will be the mini-CEO of your territory — responsible for generating demand, managing field teams, and ensuring portfolio health.
Drive Demand Generation:
- Activate markets (especially open markets, high-footfall zones) through direct engagement and tailored activations.
- Build relationships with small business owners (e.g. market women, frozen food sellers, salons, bars).
- Organize market storms, demos, POS marketing, and referral drives.
Team Leadership & Sales Management:
- Hire, train, and manage a team of field agents and sales reps.
- Track performance using sales dashboards and reporting tools.
- Ensure every agent is delivering weekly and monthly KPIs.
Customer Acquisition & Conversion:
- Identify and onboard qualified customers for our Koolbuy product range.
- Monitor conversion funnel: lead → demo → sign-up → first payment.
- Set up lead capture and follow-up workflows with telesales team.
Collections & Portfolio Health:
- Ensure timely repayments by customers through strong follow-up systems.
- Reduce default rates by embedding early education and support systems.
- Collaborate with customer service and credit teams to resolve issues quickly.
Brand Representation:
- Be the face of Koolbuy in your city — hosting activations, community events, and partner forums.
- Provide feedback to HQ on market trends, pricing sensitivities, and competitor movements.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years’ experience in field sales, agent management, or fintech like OPay, Moniepoint, Fairmoney, etc.
- Strong knowledge of market dynamics and consumer behavior in informal sectors.
- Fluent in English and the local language of the assigned region.
- Proven ability to lead teams, hit targets, and work under pressure.
- Familiarity with POS payments, customer onboarding, and collections.
