Job Description
Role Purpose
- The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for identifying and engaging high-potential talent both within and outside Ikeja Electric, supporting a dynamic and future-ready workforce.
- Reporting to the Talent Identification and Acquisition Manager, this role executes strategic sourcing and recruitment initiatives that align with Ikeja Electric’s business objectives.
- By focusing on both internal talent mobility and external talent acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Specialist helps ensure a steady pipeline for critical and strategic roles, supporting the HR transformation agenda’s objectives of workforce capability development and career growth.
Role Accountabilities
Internal Talent Identification and Mobility Support:
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and department heads to identify internal candidates for current and future openings, promoting a culture of growth and development.
- Conduct assessments and manage internal job postings to facilitate transparency and access to career opportunities for existing employees.
- Assist in coordinating internal talent reviews, gathering insights on high-potential employees ready for career advancement.
External Talent Acquisition:
- Manage the recruitment process for external hires, ensuring alignment with Ikeja Electric’s values and employer value proposition.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to engage qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds, utilizing multiple channels to broaden the talent pool.
- Maintain a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process, upholding Ikeja Electric’s reputation as an employer of choice.
Talent Pool Development and Network Building:
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical roles, both internally and externally, to support workforce planning and succession needs.
- Establish relationships with educational institutions, industry networks, and community organizations to support talent acquisition efforts.
- Maintain a database of passive candidates and nurture ongoing relationships to facilitate quick response to future hiring needs.
Data and Metrics Tracking for Continuous Improvement:
- Partner with the HR Data and Intelligence Specialist to monitor recruitment metrics, including internal mobility rates, time-to-fill, and quality of hire.
- Use data-driven insights to optimize recruitment processes, identify areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with Ikeja Electric’s talent strategy.
- Prepare reports on recruitment outcomes and progress in internal talent mobility for review by the Talent Identification and Acquisition Manager.
Minimum Requirements
- First Degree in Social Science / any relevant course with a post-graduate Degree / professional certification in HR as an added advantage.
- At least 5 years’ experience in Talent Management, Acquisition and related fields.
