Job Description
Responsibilities
- Define and enforce API-first architecture strategy and governance framework.
- Architect API and orchestration layers for efficient service communication and process flows.
- Guide adoption of API gateway, service mesh, and microservices best practices.
- Enable partner and internal API ecosystems through standardized exposure.
- Collaborate with security, data, and DevOps teams on API lifecycle automation.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- API reusability ratio across products.
- Mean time to onboard a new API or partner.
- Percentage of APIs delivered with validated and complete specifications.
- Percentage of API traffic routed through orchestration layer.
- Compliance rate with API technology and security standards (e.g., OAuth2, rate limiting).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems.
- Experience: 8 –10+ years in system integration and solution architecture; 4+ years in API architecture and orchestration platforms.
Technical Skills
- Expert in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, SOAP, and API Gateways (e.g., Azure, Kong, Apigee).
- Hands-on experience with service orchestration tools (e.g., Camunda, MuleSoft, BPEL).
- Strong knowledge of microservices, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps practices.
Preferred Certifications
- TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification, SAFe Architect, Azure/AWS/GCP Architect, or Mobile App Architect certifications.
- Vendor certifications (e.g., Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway).
