Job Summary
- The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment used in steel production.
- The role ensures minimal downtime, maximum equipment efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, fit, and install mechanical components and production machinery.
- Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical equipment to identify faults and carry out repairs.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize equipment breakdowns.
- Align, adjust, and calibrate machinery parts to required specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
- Operate hand tools, welding machines, and other fitting equipment safely.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and spare parts used.
- Collaborate with the production and electrical teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Trade Test Certificate (Mechanical Fitting) or OND (Ordinary National Diploma) or HND (Higher National Diploma) in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a manufacturing or steel production environment.
