Our Client, an International School located in Lagos(Mainland), is seeking to employ a dedicated and supportive Boarding House Parent (Male)to care for students living in the hostel. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth running of the hostel, provide pastoral care, supervision, and emotional support to students in the boarding house, ensuring their safety, well-being, and positive development.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Provide personal care, supervision, and emotional support to boarders.

  • Ensure students maintain proper hygiene, punctuality, and discipline.

  • Actively support students’ academic progress by supervising prep and encouraging a culture of learning.

  • Monitor students’ health, administer first aid when necessary, and liaise with medical staff.

  • Organize and supervise recreational, social, and boarding house activities.

  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and orderliness of hostel facilities.

  • Communicate with parents and relevant school staff concerning students’ welfare.

  • Enforce school rules fairly and maintain discipline while fostering a positive hostel environment.

  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation on students and boarding activities.

  • Support student safeguarding and act in loco parentis in all situations.



Requirements:




  • Minimum of a B.Ed./B.Sc. in relevant discipline.

  • Previous experience working with teenagers in a school, youth camp, or pastoral care setting.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Ability to remain calm, approachable, and consistent in handling adolescent behavior.

  • Ability to maintain discipline and enforce school policies.

  • Must be mature, emotionally stable, and able to manage emergencies calmly.
