Your job will be to provide support to your department by performing a variety of task. In this position,your primary duty will cover tasks from fire safety awareness to prevention and combating fires as well as maintenance of equipment
Duties Responsibilities
Preventing, combating, and extinguishing fires with the goal of protecting lives and property as well as the environment.
Performing general maintenance of firefighting equipment and operating tools/equipment used for firefighting safely and effectively as well as servicing of fire extinguisher within the facility and the housing estate.
Hot work monitoring; serves as fire watch
Conduct fire risk assessment in conjunction with inhouse subject matter expert and analysing hazardous situations, think of quick solutions and actions.
Conduct fire emergency evacuation and providing appropriate first aid care within their scope of knowledge in emergency situations.
Promote fire safety by teaching and participating in training classes and drills.
Prepare detailed incident reports and submit to Head QHSE.
Comply with all policies and federal and state regulation.
Report all observed unsafe acts and unsafe condition within the facility.
Maintaining a clean environment within the facility.
Carrying out other related duties as may be advised by Head, QHSE from time to time.
Qualifications
Minimum requirement of National Diploma (ND).
Mechanical Engineer and other related science courses.
Firefighting training certificate from a reputable company (Federal Fire service and Lagos state Fire service will be of advantage)
Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria level 2, 3 and General HSE also Membership will be an added advantage.
