About the Role




  • We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fibre Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fibre optic networks to ensure reliable connectivity for our clients.



Key Responsibilities




  • Install, terminate, and splice fibre optic cables in both underground and overhead environments.

  • Conduct OTDR testing, fault finding, and signal analysis.

  • Maintain and repair existing fibre infrastructure.

  • Perform routine inspections to ensure network reliability.

  • Work closely with engineers and project managers to meet project timelines.

  • Adhere to all health, safety, and quality standards.



Qualifications and Experience




  • Candidates should possess an OND/HND/B.Sc. in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronics, Information Technology, or related discipline.

  • Must have 2–3 years proven experience in fibre optic installation, splicing, and testing.

  • Practical knowledge of fibre optic equipment, including OTDR, power meters, and splicing machines.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for fibre optic networks.

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve network faults effectively.

  • Good communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.

  • Physically fit and able to work in outdoor environments and confined spaces.

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., FOA Certified Fibre Optic Technician – CFOT) will be an added advantage.



Requirements:




  • Proven experience as a Fibre Technician or similar role.

  • Worked on fibre project from inception

  • Strong knowledge of fibre optic cabling, splicing, and testing methods.

  • Hands-on experience with OTDR, power meters, and other fibre testing tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and schematics.

  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Physically fit and comfortable working in outdoor and confined space environments.

  • Valid driver’s license (added advantage).

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., FOA, Fibre Optics training) will be an asset.
