Job Responsibilities




  • Supervise the maintenance of critical infrastructure including HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, power generators, water systems, lighting, and general building upkeep.

  • Ensure all preventive maintenance schedules are followed and logged.

  • Respond promptly to repair requests or breakdowns and minimize facility downtime.

  • Coordinate third-party vendors and service providers for maintenance, repair, janitorial, pest control, and security services.

  • Monitor vendor compliance with contractual terms, safety protocols, and performance standards.

  • Evaluate quotations, negotiate costs, and oversee quality of external services.

  • Ensure that all safety regulations are followed within facilities in accordance with national and industry standards.

  • Support audits and inspections (e.g. fire safety, occupational health, NAFDAC, or biotech/food regulations).

  • Conduct safety drills and facility checks, and address identified risks or hazards.

  • Maintain and update records related to maintenance schedules, service logs, utilities usage, and incident reports.

  • Prepare regular reports on facility status, maintenance activities, and incident responses.

  • Recommend improvements for energy efficiency, space optimization, or operational cost savings.



 



Job Requirements




  • B.Sc. or HND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in facilities or maintenance supervision, preferably in manufacturing, biotech, food production, or laboratory environments.

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, facility systems, and workplace safety regulations.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in using basic computer tools (e.g., MS Word, Excel) for documentation, reporting, and record-keeping.

  • High level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity in handling staff, vendors, and company property.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to lead internal teams and coordinate with vendors.

  • Ability to work under pressure, respond quickly to facility emergencies, and make sound technical decisions.
