Job Description




  • The Technical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving automotive components, systems, and assemblies. The role involves creating 2D/3D models, preparing technical drawings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that all designs meet performance, safety, and quality standards. The engineer will also play a key role in prototyping, testing, and supporting the transition of designs into mass production.



Key Responsibilities




  • Design and develop automotive parts, systems, and assemblies using CAD/CAE tools.

  • Prepare detailed technical drawings, models, and design documentation.

  • Collaborate with production, R&D, procurement, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability of designs.

  • Conduct simulations, stress analysis, and performance evaluations of components.

  • Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

  • Review and improve existing designs for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and durability.

  • Provide technical support during production and troubleshoot design-related issues.

  • Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress.

  • Stay updated on new design methodologies, tools, and automotive technologies.



Job Requirements



Education & Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.

  • Certification in CAD/CAE software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD is an advantage.



Experience




  • 2–5 years of experience in automotive or mechanical design engineering.

  • Experience with design validation, prototyping, and manufacturing processes is preferred.



Skills & Competencies




  • Strong proficiency in CAD/CAE tools and design software.

  • Knowledge of automotive systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.

  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and technical documentation skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Strong attention to detail, creativity, and innovation.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
