Key Responsibilities
Guest Luggage Handling:
- Greet guests upon arrival and departure, promptly assisting with the loading and unloading of luggage from vehicles.
- Safely transport luggage to guest rooms upon check-in and retrieve it for check-out, ensuring all items are accounted for and delivered in a timely manner.
- Store and retrieve luggage securely in the designated storage room as requested by guests.
Customer Service & Assistance:
- Escort guests to their rooms and provide a brief orientation to the room and hotel facilities (e.g., explaining how to use the air conditioning, lights, and key card).
- Provide information about the hotel services, local area, tourist attractions, and transportation options in Lagos.
- Assist the Front Desk with directing guests and managing lobby traffic during peak hours.
Operational Support:
- Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment for hotel events, conferences, and banquets when required.
- Run errands for the front office or management as needed, such as delivering documents or packages.
- Ensure the hotel lobby, entrance, and immediate surrounding areas are clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.
Security & Safety:
- Maintain strict security and confidentiality regarding guest room numbers and personal information.
- Immediately report any suspicious activity, safety hazards, or maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
Qualifications & Skills
- Physical Stamina: Must be fit and able to lift and transport heavy luggage, stand for long periods, and work a flexible schedule.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality are essential for effective guest interaction.
- Professionalism: A high standard of personal presentation and grooming is required.
- Integrity: Demonstrated honesty and trustworthiness in handling guest belongings and hotel property.
