Introduction


The management of a newly acquired specialist medical centre in Lekki Phase I, Lagos State, Nigeria is seeking to transform it into a centre of excellence for child, maternal care and other specialist services. To this end, the new management is seeking to engage the services of forward-thinking medical professionals who will be committed to interpreting and implementing the vision of the promoters. The newly hired clinical team will have the opportunity to work in a conducive and well- equipped hospital, that will provide quality primary and secondary healthcare services to patients from all over Lagos State.


6334 Business Services has been engaged by the new management of the hospital to recruit personnel to fill the following clinical roles:



  •  1 Medical Officer (Experienced)




Reports to: Head of Clinical Services



Main Purpose of the Job

He/She is responsible for performing all assigned clinical and non-clinical activities in the organization. He/She will work collaboratively with the Head of Clinical Services.



Key Responsibilities

Responding to patients’ medical problems by referring to their history, carrying out diagnosis, treatment, counselling, and referral, where necessary according to Pearl Hospital protocol.



  • Ordering lab tests and interpreting the test results.

  • Maintaining confidentiality and impartiality always.

  •  Collecting, recording, and maintaining sensitive patient information such as examination results,

  • medical history, and reports.

  • Explaining procedures or prescribed treatments to patients.

  • Liaising with medical professionals in the hospital.

  • Promoting health education in conjunction with other health professionals.

  •  Meeting targets set by the government for specified treatments, e.g., child immunization.

  • Keeping updated with medical developments, treatment, and medication.

  • Manage the team under your responsibility, supervising performance, organizing, and scheduling shifts and rotations.

  • Directly participating in emergencies and on-calls if necessary.

  • Keep the patient and/or family informed about the illness and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment to be followed.



    Education/Certifications:

  • Degree in Medicine and applicable experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

  • Current medical license.

    Experience:

  •  Varied experience as a medical doctor in one or more areas especially Obstetrics & Gynaecology for a minimum of 5 years.

  • Available to work for a minimum of 1 year.
