Role Overview:



The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations, providing tax audit and controversy support services, and preparing various financial reports. This position encompasses a wide range of service offerings within the GCR Unit for Non-oil companies.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Prepare, review and submit tax returns in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Identify and mitigate tax-related risks, implementing robust controls and processes.

  • Provide support in Tax Controversy matters, assisting clients in navigating disputes with tax authorities.

  • Handle Income Tax Compliance, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to local and international tax laws.

  • Manage Tax Accounting, Provisioning, and Reporting, ensuring accurate tax provisions and compliance with relevant standards.

  • Manage Accounting Compliance & Reporting (ACR) processes, ensuring all compliance obligations are met.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting reports according to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), include compilation of annual statutory reports in line with IFRS provisions.

  • Oversee Payroll Operations, ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations and timely submissions.

  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, promoting a collaborative culture.

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions across all service offerings.



Qualifications:




  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc/HND) in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field (minimum of 2.1/upper credit).

  • Professional or postgraduate qualifications (ICAN, ACCA, CITN, MBA) are advantageous.

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in tax and accounting compliance & reporting, with a strong track record in a senior role.

  • Strong knowledge of local and international tax regulations and IFRS.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • A knowledge of Oil and Gas is an Added advantage.
