We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage sourcing, purchasing, and inventory of food and supplies. This role will ensure cost-effective, ethical, and timely procurement to support our mission of feeding the community.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the food bank’s goals.
Source and negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and donors for food and non-food items.
Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, timely delivery, and compliance with agreements.
Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and distribution teams.
Ensure procurement processes comply with organizational policies and donor requirements.
Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare regular reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum [2 years] experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics (nonprofit or food industry experience preferred).
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Knowledge of procurement regulations, ethical sourcing, and inventory management.
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software.
