The Junior Accountant supports the Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with internal financial policies and regulatory requirements.
The role involves assisting in day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliation, and financial analysis to support the company’s business objectives.
Responsibilities
Record and post daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Support bank reconciliation and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Assist in processing vendor invoices, staff reimbursements, and payment vouchers.
Maintain an organized filing system for all financial documents.
Support payroll processing and statutory deductions (PAYE, VAT, Pension, NHF).
Participate in internal and external audits by preparing relevant documentation.
Assist in monitoring budget performance and reporting variances.
Ensure compliance with Hoop Telecoms’ financial policies and procedures.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Finance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2 – 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
Good understanding of financial regulations and Nigerian tax laws.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
