Job Description

• Mavin’s Accounting Intern will provide hands-on support to the Finance team in managing day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal control processes.


• This role is ideal for a high-achieving graduate looking to build a solid foundation in accounting and finance within the music and entertainment industry.

Responsibilities

Here’s What You Will Be Doing:

Financial Record-Keeping

• Post and update accounting records (journals, invoices, receipts, and payments).


• Ensure all supporting documents for transactions are complete and properly filed.


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date ledgers.

Reporting & Analysis

• Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of financial statements and reports.


• Support in budget preparation, expense tracking, and variance analysis.


• Provide insights into financial data to support strategic decision-making.

Audit & Compliance

• Collaborate with external auditors during audit processes.


• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and accounting standards.

Administrative Support

• Perform administrative tasks within the finance department as required.


• Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance Manager and wider finance team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.


• Must be a current NYSC corps member.


• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
