The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting decision-making through timely financial reporting. The role includes bookkeeping, reconciliations, tax compliance, and assisting with budgeting and audits. The Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of the organization.
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions in line with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform bank, vendor, and inter-company reconciliations.
- Support budget preparation and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements, and filing deadlines.
- Maintain fixed asset register and ensure proper depreciation accounting.
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring provision of accurate documentation.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
- Provide timely financial data and insights to management.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate cost allocations and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification or progress toward one (ACA, ACCA, CPA) preferred.
- 2–5 years’ experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Sage).
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- High attention to detail and integrity.
