Job Summary
- We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Head, Commercial to drive revenue growth, optimize profitability, and oversee the entire commercial function within our retail operations.
- This individual will be responsible for crafting and executing commercial strategies, building strong customer and partner relationships, and leading a high-performing team.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the retail industry and a proven track record of delivering results with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Commercial Leadership:
- Develop and implement the commercial strategy aligned with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities across product lines, market segments, and distribution channels.
Sales and Revenue Management:
- Drive sales growth by developing innovative sales plans and promotional strategies.
Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
- Oversee pricing strategies to maintain competitiveness and profitability.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction by aligning commercial operations with customer needs.
Product and Category Management:
- Collaborate with product teams to determine optimal product assortments and pricing strategies.
- Monitor product performance and trends to inform inventory decisions and promotional campaigns.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the commercial team, including sales, marketing, and category managers, to achieve objectives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and performance excellence.
Market and Competitor Analysis:
- Conduct regular market research to understand industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
- Use insights to refine commercial strategies and identify new opportunities.
Budget and Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the commercial budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Analyze financial reports to assess profitability and adjust strategies as needed.
- Develop and manage the supply chain budget, focusing on cost optimization while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Implement cost-reduction strategies across the supply chain without compromising performance or customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- At least 8+ years of experience in a senior commercial role within the retail industry.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and profitability in a retail environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in sales, marketing, category management, and pricing strategies.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Experience with retail management systems and customer relationship management tools is an advantage.
