Job Description
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor budgets, expenditures, and financial performance across departments.
- Prepare and process payments, invoices, and payroll accurately and on time.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure the integrity of all financial records.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Manage petty cash and monitor school fees and receivables.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Advise on cost reduction, financial risks, and resource optimization.
- Maintain an organized filing system of financial records for audit and management review.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in an educational or non-profit environment.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Previous experience in a school or tertiary institution is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws, payroll, and regulatory requirements.
