Job Summary
- The Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, developing strategies to increase company revenue, preparing proposals and presentations, managing client relationships, and coordinating project bids within the oil & gas, procurement, and environmental industries.
- The ideal candidate should also possess graphic design and proposal writing skills to support the development of marketing and communication materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities in oil & gas, environmental management, and procurement sectors.
- Develop and implement business growth strategies and marketing plans to expand the company’s client base.
- Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and industry regulations to guide business decisions.
- Prepare high-quality technical and commercial proposals, bids, and tenders in line with client and regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients to ensure long-term engagement.
- Design marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and digital content using graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, CorelDRAW, Photoshop).
- Support tender preparation, supplier sourcing, and vendor management in procurement projects.
- Track and report business development metrics and pipeline performance to management.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of B.Sc. or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Environmental Management, Petroleum Engineering, or any related field.
- Minimum of 3 years proven experience in business development, marketing, or proposal writing, preferably within oil & gas, procurement, or environmental sectors.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop, CorelDRAW) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Good understanding of the Nigerian business environment and tendering procedures.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance, sustainability services, or waste management is an advantage.
- Proactive, result-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
